MIRA Cuba The flaneur way

Mira Cuba is a collection of impressions and expressions inspired by everyday moments from the simple to the ordinary and all that lies in the space between.

What began with a question on WHY CREATE? Led me to CUBA in 2014, on a self-inquiry into my own creative process.

Like a modern-day flaneur, I strolled the streets with a camera over my shoulder and a sketchbook tucked under my arm. I went with the flow of Cuban life and let the moment take me to where I was meant and whom I was meant to meet.

Equally in 2020, It was a time to slow down, tune in and get back to being flaneur of our everyday. This time in our own backyards, living rooms, and nearby streets.

Within this book is a personal account of my visions and thoughts, observed, documented, and expressed through the mediums of writing, photography, and drawing. A compilation that was created during several trips to Cuba from 2014, onwards, and processed in 2020.
