W I T N E S S series
WITNESS is a series that observes and explores the inner and outer landscapes of the human experience. Among the places and spaces in which we inhabit. As a person who has been always held a keen interest in the story of others, this series is one that bears WITNESS on where we came from, who we are today, and who we are BECOMING. As well, it is a chance for me to get RE-acquainted with life again and RE-connect and RE-late with others once again. To truly see, listen, and feel each of their unique presence and essence. Capturing the visions and versions of others and their unique personalities and beauty. Please enjoy images and a few words, with people from all walks of life, as they open their doors to their homes and sanctuaries to share a moment in time with me.

I met Christelle a few years ago, as she attended one of my sensory experiences. We immediately found a common denominator with which to begin to relate. From that day onwards, we took many walks and talks to one of her favorite sanctuaries, in the Mont-Royal cemetery. We would wander, drink tea, and exchange stories, thoughts, and the experience we were having both inward and outward. Witnessing the big shifts that occurred in each other’s lives, mentally, physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. We shared intimately, openly, and as authentic as we could. Building a bond of camaraderie in truth. Revealing our thoughts about love, art, music, and the things and the people we hold dear. We both have felt, the pulls and push of life, and have been each other’s witness to share, listen and lean on for support, through the most uncertain times. Recently I had the great opportunity to sit in her presence within her sanctuary, among her wonderful objects and stories. Here is a little bit of my impressions and expressions as I bare WITNESS for a moment into the life of Christelle Franca, her partner Wissam Salem and their cat Madame Secha, as they begin a journey forward.

Mediterranee. Time with the families and friends in France and Italy and Lebanon...
and who knows where else we shall go... curious we are.
We know only one thing: wherever we go, we will re-create sanctuaries like this one.
